The 2020 Spring semester is undoubtedly not what we anticipated. During the uncertainty of these times, it is imperative that we pay particular attention to our mission of educating and forming Franciscan servant leaders who will go on to serve those most in need. The current pandemic has disrupted many lives, including those of our students. The FranU community has always stood together during challenging times, and now we are faced with another hardship. Let us again join together to help our students in their time of need.
FranU students are among those who are struggling to manage unexpected pressures related to COVID-19, including, but not limited to, loss of part-time employment income, unexpected childcare expenses, food insecurity and other personal life challenges, all while continuing to focus on academics and completing the semester.
Gifts to the Student Emergency Fund will provide financial assistance to our students whose lives have been significantly disrupted by this pandemic. With your support, students will gain the security of knowing that they can continue their education, complete the semester and serve others through their work.
When considering making a gift, please keep in mind the tax deduction from the CARES Act. The 90% of donors who do not itemize may take a tax deduction for cash gifts of up to $300 per person or $600 per couple.
NOTE: Online giving is the only payment method we can accept at this time due to current operational limitations as a result of the Governor's stay-at-home order. Once the order has been lifted, and the University can return to normal business operations, we will resume the ability to process mailed gifts.
Thank you in advance for your generous gifts and continual support,
