Career and Vocation Services

Career and Vocation Services provides a broad range of career planning services. These services include one-on-one guidance to help students attain the knowledge, skills, and contacts they need to find their career path and employment. Free services include career counseling, resume and cover letter critiques, mock interviews, and annual career events. Additionally, students have access to College Central, a free online job board where students can search for jobs and other opportunities posted exclusively to FranU.

Introducing College Central:

College Central connects students to entry-level, part time and seasonal jobs with simple, all-device friendly tools that are both powerful and easy to use.

Students can also:

  • Search and apply to over 500,000 national jobs and internships;
  • Build and upload their résumé and career portfolio;
  • Browse the career advice library, podcasts, and videos.

Events

Career Connect Events and Fairs

Career and Vocation Services in conjunction with each college offer several career fairs and connect events throughout the year. Employers who represent part-time and full-time jobs and the graduate schools will provide information on various graduate programs. FranU students will want to attend this fair to meet employers and university representatives to learn about job opportunities and graduate school programs. More details to come!

CVS and the FranU Alumni Association offer a series of career programs to connect you to the growing Franu alumni network.

Lunch and learn on vocation with FranU:

This series allows students an opportunity to meet and speak with a diverse panel of alumni from various industries and hear about the highlights of their career and vocation journey.

Make an Appointment

To schedule an appointment with Career and Vocation Services (CVS) follow these simple instructions:

  1. Log into College Central
  2. Click on "Contact Us" (on left hand navigation bar)
  3. Click on "Email"
  4. Type “Appointment” in the subject field. Then provide details about what you are needing support with in the body. Someone from our office will follow up with you within 24 hours.

You may call our front desk at 225-490-1620 or stop by our office located on the Student Services Annex, Ste A.

Get Started With College Central

Create a free employer account with College Central, Franu’s career management platform for students and alumni. Through College Central you can post jobs and internships, manage applications and interviews, register for on-campus recruiting events, communicate with students and alumni, and more

College Central Network (CCN) is the place to go to for your hiring needs. Our students are always seeking new internship and job opportunities. This site, powered by College Central Network, now makes it easy for you to publicize your available opportunities. To post your current job and internship opportunities, please follow these instructions:

  1. First set up your profile on College Central Network, please follow this link to the setup page collegecentral.com/franu.
  2. Choose the Employers icon.
  3. Click Create Account.
  4. Follow the prompts for setting up an account.

We will review and approve your postings. If approved, you may post your positions at no charge. Students and alumni will be able to search through the network for any available opportunities.
