Office of The Franciscan Experience

The mission of the Office of The Franciscan Experience is to provide mission-centered engagement opportunities to foster personal and academic success through new student transition initiatives, student connections, and faith and leadership development.

Welcome to your first year as a FRAN!

Your first steps at FranU begin a journey of faithful community, deeper self-discovery, and robust academic experiences. The Franciscan Experience is your connection to our campus to learn about our mission, core values, services, and experiences both inside and outside the classroom. In the spirit of St. Francis and our Franciscan Core Values, we encourage you to seek help, challenge yourself, and get involved!

TFE Events & Programs

Wolf Pack Orientation

While the FranU experience starts well before orientation through the admission and enrollment process, Wolf Pack Orientation is your first dive into the depths of your academic and personal success as a new Fran! You will hear from current students, faculty, and staff, to learn about resources, involvement opportunities, and gear up for the first day on our campus. You will also connect with your peers and kindle new friendships!

Franciscan Peer Leaders

This brand new program will consist of a premiere group of students who are selected to become an integral part of your new student experience! These students will be formed to accompany you on your journey during your first year to provide peer-to-peer support, opportunities to engage and network, and a welcoming community.

Welcome Week

While Welcome Week is traditionally a week celebrating all students, this is an additional opportunity for new students to get acquainted with FranU offices and services and connect with other Frans. This is a collaborative week-long celebration with free food, gifts, fun, and community that takes place during the first week of the fall & spring semesters.

Academic Seminar: ACSM 1110

This course is designed to welcome you as a new member of the FranU academic community. The course will assist you with your transition to campus by introducing you to the academic philosophy and expectations of the University. You will develop attitudes, behaviors, skills, and strategies that will contribute to your ongoing learning at FranU and beyond!

TFE Summer Institute

The Franciscan Experience Summer Institute is for rising juniors and seniors in high school. This week is devoted to fostering a community of young people who are interested in going deeper into what it means to discern vocation through the eyes and heart of St. Francis of Assisi.
