The Franciscan Center for Professional Development is pleased to announce the appointment of Edgar “Ed” Halphen as co-chair of the inaugural advisory board. Halphen brings a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to the mission and values of the Franciscan Center. His leadership will be instrumental in establishing and advancing the Center’s goals and expanding its impact in professional and continuing education.
Halphen serves as the Chief Human Resource Officer/Senior Vice President at Woman’s Hospital in Baton Rouge, one of the largest specialty hospitals in the United Sates with nearly er 8,000 annual births, 300+ beds, and 2,100 employees. He has led audit of HR practices and HR philosophies to ensure compliance and best practice and created 11 workstreams to close gaps and progress HR function forward. He has also restructured HR, Recruiting, Compensation/Benefits, and Talent Development functions to better align with the hospital’s strategic needs.
He graduated from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, with a Bachelor of Science, Business Management and Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN with a Master of Business Administration/MBA, Human Resources.

The Center offers online courses and in-person events, with webinars and certifications to follow this year. The courses are designed to help healthcare professionals enhance their skills and advance in their careers by providing practical, immediately applicable knowledge.
