This course presents a broad overview of the United States healthcare system including educational and research institutions, public and private programs, managed care organizations and integrated networks that deliver health care to individuals. Courseworkemphasizes the basic functional components of a healthcare delivery system: finance, insurance, delivery, payment, technology, and issues in the areas of access, quality, cost, and innovations in healthcare.
