Annually, since 2008, Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University has proudly recognized alumni and community leaders who exhibit the highest professional standards and a Franciscan-inspired commitment to service.
Nominees selected for recognition at the Hall of Distinction exemplify Franciscan values. Their lives contradict our society’s stress on individualism and materialism and are led, instead, by joyfulness of spirit, reverence of life, justice, humility and service.
When submitting a nomination please provide the full name of the nominee, graduation year for alumni, and a brief narrative (1/2 page to 1 page). A successful nomination will address at least 2-3 of the listed criteria related to the intended award and will describe what qualities the nominee possesses to make them worthy of recognition.
Nominations will be blind reviewed by an award selection committee. Final award designees will be approved by the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University President’s Cabinet.
All nominations will be confidential and only winners will be notified. Awards will be presented at the Hall of Distinction on March 26, 2025.

Vikki has over 17 years of experience as a registered nurse serving in various different departments. It is with her God given talent, hard work and discernment that she found a need within her community and began a non-profit foundation, Rosebuds, Inc. This organization seeks to serve our community by providing food distributions, drive through PPE give-a-ways, and feeding the homeless. Her foundation has grown into an educational institution that seeks to train certified nursing assistants who strive to serve each person with compassion, humility and dignity. Vikki has gone on to live out the mission that was instilled in her during her time at FranU.

Mary Kathryn is a triple graduate of FranU culminating in her membership in the inaugural MSN-Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) graduating class. As a practitioner, Mary Kathryn has demonstrated FranU’s mission and values. She and her family present to high schoolers, athletic groups, and church members about the importance of mental health and seeking help when it is needed. Mary Kathryn was recognized in 2023 as one of the area’s Top Nurse Practitioners by Bayou Life’s Top Docs.

Tyler epitomizes the Franciscan values within his work as a CRNA as well as his involvement in his church parish. Tyler’s role has allowed him to help mentor current FranU students as part of our University's goal of forming Franciscan servant leaders within the realm of healthcare providers.
