FranU continues monitoring upcoming weather conditions in the Baton Rouge region. The area remains under an enhanced risk for severe weather resulting in hazardous road conditions and potential power outages beginning Tuesday, January 21. As a result, FranU will extend remote operations through Wednesday, January 22.

Art club is one of our social clubs here at FranU, you also do not have to have any great artistic talent to join! The Art club is one of our most active student organizations, supporting our larger events around campus.

Beta Epsilon

One of our pre-professional organizations, Beta Epsilon, is linked directly to our Radiology Tech program here at the university.


Beta Sigma Mu

Beta Sigma Mu is a program in which all Biology students at the university are automatically enrolled in. Beta Sigma Mu often brings in phenomenal guest speakers to the university, these meetings are open to all to join!


Intensive Care Earth (ICE)

Intensive Care Earth or ICE for short, is one of our premier social and service-based student organizations. ICE often organizes service opportunities around the Baton Rouge community such as, grave yard clean ups and cleaning up the lakes around Baton Rouge.

Medical Laboratory Science Association (MLSA)

The Medical Laboratory Science Association (MLSA) Club is a student organization dedicated to promoting the field of medical laboratory science and supporting students pursuing this vital healthcare profession. The club provides opportunities for professional development, peer collaboration, and hands-on learning through workshops, guest speakers, and lab-related activities. Members can expand their knowledge of laboratory techniques, diagnostics, and emerging technologies, while also participating in community outreach. The MLS Club fosters a strong sense of community and prepares students for successful careers in laboratory science and healthcare.


Nutrition

The Nutrition program’s own student organization at FranU is designed to equip students with a deep understanding of the science of nutrition and its impact on health and wellness. Students in the program gain valuable skills in areas such as medical nutrition therapy, public health nutrition, and food science.


Physician Assistant Student Organization (PASO)

PASO is a student-led group designed to support and enhance the educational experience of students in the Physician Assistant (PA) program. PASO promotes professional growth, leadership, and community engagement through activities such as workshops, guest lectures, and community service initiatives.


Phi Theta Alpha

The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) is a student organization focused on enhancing the educational experience of those pursuing careers as physical therapist assistants. The club offers members opportunities for professional development, community service, and peer collaboration through activities such as workshops, guest speakers, and hands-on learning experiences.


Psychology Club

The Psychology Club at FranU is an active student organization dedicated to promoting interest in the field of psychology. Student Nurses Association (SNA)

The Student Nurses Association (SNA) is a student organization that supports nursing students in their academic and professional journeys. SNA offers opportunities for leadership development, community service, and peer support while fostering a sense of camaraderie among its members. The association hosts educational events, workshops, and networking opportunities, helping students stay informed about current trends in nursing and healthcare. Through involvement in SNA, nursing students can enhance their clinical skills, advocate for the profession, and connect with mentors and leaders in the nursing field.


Student Physical Therapy Society (SPTS)

The Student Physical Therapy Society (SPTS) is a student organization dedicated to supporting students in the Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program. SPTS promotes academic excellence, professional growth, and community engagement through workshops, guest lectures, and service projects. The organization provides students with opportunities to deepen their knowledge of physical therapy practices, stay informed on industry advancements, and develop leadership skills.


Student Government

The FranU Student Government Association is committed to representing the students’ voice to the University administration. The SGA also hosts a variety of programs and events each semester designed to help students get engaged and connected outside of the classroom.

How To Start A Club at FranU:

  • Find a Faculty/staff Advisor: Identify a faculty or staff member who is willing to sponsor and support the club.
  • Gather Members: Recruit a minimum number of 4 students interested in joining the club.
  • Submit a Proposal: Write a proposal outlining the club’s purpose, goals, and activities. This usually includes a constitution or bylaws.
  • Approval Process: Submit the proposal to Matthew White for approval.
  • Register the Club: Once approved, register the club with the school through Softdocs to gain access to resources and funding.
