What Campus Health and Wellness Offers
At Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (FranU), we are committed to supporting the overall health and wellbeing of our students. The Campus Health and Wellness team provides resources, guidance, and programs designed to help you stay healthy, thrive academically, and live well during your time at FranU. All health records and consultations are kept completely confidential.
Our Services
- Providing information about health resources on campus and in the community.
- Coordinating wellness programs and activities that promote healthy living.
- Ensuring compliance with immunizations and clinical student health requirements.
- Storing and maintaining student health records securely and electronically.
As a member of the American College Health Assocation, Health and Wellness also serve as a resource for reliable information on a wide variety of health topics.
Immunization Requirements for Admission
In compliance with Louisiana state law (R.S. 17:170), FranU has an immunization policy to protect students, faculty, and staff from outbreaks of specific communicable diseases.
All students are required to have:
- Received the MMR vaccine for measles, mumps, and rubella
- One dose of the TD or Tdap vaccine for tetanus and diptheria (within the last 10 years)
- An up-to-date dose of the Meningitis Vaccine (MenACWY)
Students must submit proof of vaccination or complete a Vaccine Exemption/Waiver Request form. For exemption forms or questions, please contact Health and Wellness at healthandwellness@franu.edu.

A free and anonymous Food Pantry on campus - SNAP Benefits for College Students
Access to Primary Care Providers through the Lake Physician’s Group- Call (225) 526-1923 to schedule an appointment convenient to your class schedule
- Total Occupational Medicine Clinic (3282 Drusilla Ln Location)
Provides services to university students at discounted rates including vaccinations, TB testing, and physical exams. - Rx One Pharmacy
Students receive 15% discount off over the counter items - Lake Health and Fitness Center
Located 0.5 miles from campus- Offers discounted membership rate to FranU students
