Biography

Dr. Albert (Bert) Swafford holds the rank of Associate Professor of Physiology and has been with the university since 2006. Dr. Swafford obtained his Master of Science in Physiology from the University of South Alabama in 1998 and earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Physiology from Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in 2003. Dr. Swafford was named the Didactic Instructor of the Year by the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists in 2013. His research interests are mathematical modeling of physiological principles and (as a hobby) abstract algebra and number theory. Dr. Swafford teaches Advanced Anatomy, Physiology, and Pathophysiology I and II.
