Biography
Brian Rash currently serves as the Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs & Provost at Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University. He joined FranU as an adjunct professor of Biology in January 2006, was appointed as a full-time assistant professor in August 2007, and promoted to full professor in 2014. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biology with a Microbiology Specialization from Bowling Green State University and Ph.D. in Biological Sciences from Louisiana State University. He has formerly served FranU's Dean for the School of Arts & Sciences, Acting Dean of the School of Health Professions, and Biology Program Director. In his current role, his primary responsibilities focus leading the departments of academic affairs and student affairs to provide resources and develop innovative curricular and co-curricular methods designed to facilitate achievement of educational learning outcomes in concert with the formation of the whole person. He also serves as a commissioner for the Commission for Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), evaluator for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools ' Commission on Colleges (SACS-COC), board member for Our Lady of the Lake's Clinical Pastoral Education program and the Franciscan Center for Professional Development (FCPD). He has also currently served on Mayor Sid Edwards' Higher Education and Technical College Transition Committee.
