Biography

Dr. Nugent is a Graduate Faculty member for the Doctor of Nursing Practice-Nurse Anesthesia Program. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northeast Louisiana University (ULM) in Monroe in 1986, her Master of Health Science in 1988 from Texas Wesleyan College, her Certificate in the Art of Anesthesiology in 1989 from Texas Wesleyan University, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Christian University in 2009. Dr. Nugent teaches online research, leadership, and healthcare policy courses. Dr. Nugent has been in nurse anesthesia education since 1992 and has been an Assistant Dean for Administrative & Clinical Affairs. Dr. Nugent practices independently as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthesiologist in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. She is a member and Fellow of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists (AANA). She is a Friend for Life of the AANA Foundation, the research and education support branch for the AANA. Dr. Nugent serves on the Professional Development Committee of the AANA and has been President of the Texas Association of Nurse Anesthesiologists.
