Biography
Jalan, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, began working at FRANU in 1998 as an adjunct instructor of English and continued teaching writing until 2010, when she became the coordinator of the university's new writing center. She is mom to two adult daughters, who both live in other states; at any given time she lives with at least one but no more than three cats. Her passions include reading (mostly Facebook and The Atlantic), traveling and binge watching British crime dramas.
