Job Description

The Admissions Counselor position within Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (FranU)’s Office of Undergraduate Admissions plays a key collaborative role in advancing the enrollment goals and mission of the university. This individual will be responsible for articulating FranU’s message to prospective students, their families, counselors, and other constituents. The individual will promote FranU through a full range of admissions activities including recruitment/outreach/travel, admissions decision-making, event coordination, and specific admissions projects and responsibilities as assigned. #CB

Job Responsibility

  1. Territory Recruitment and Management
    1. Represents the university and its programs at recruitment events, including high school and college visits, college fairs, visits to schools and community-based organizations, and information sessions.
    2. Responsible for the management of an assigned recruiting territory working with students and families through the complete enrollment process from application generation to enrollment.
    3. Using data analysis to research, plan and execute recruitment travel.
    4. Builds and cultivates relationships and partnerships with constituents such as secondary school counselors, community-based organizations, and professional organizations.
    5. Regular outreach to prospects through phone, email, text, and social media.
    6. Facilitate one-on-one campus visits with prospective students and their families.
    7. Track activities via CRM system.
    8. Assists in executing on-campus recruitment events.
  2. Manage and coordinate personal travel schedule with department needs in mind
    1. Maintain familiarity with system-wide policies and procedures.
    2. Maintain familiarity with institutional policy, practice, and codes for admissions.
    3. Interpret Regulations and policies and regulations regarding admissions as needed.
    4. Use data & research to make informed decisions related to territory management strategies.
  3. Admissions Evaluations and Decision Making
    1. Assists with all phases of the application processing, review, and admission decisions.
  4. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions
    1. Ensure Quality Customer Service
    2. Assist the Director of Undergraduate Admissions or peers with special projects

Job Qualifications

Experience: 1 year experience in Higher Education admissions or recruiting preferred

Education: Bachelor's degree

Special Skills: Ability to travel, overnights, non-standard hours, ability to lift objects up to 40 lbs.

Licensure: Valid LA Driver's License. If moving to Louisiana, Louisiana Driver's License is required within 30 days of the start date.
