Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University is holding its annual Spring Simulation week April 22 – 26 with several events for students, faculty and community partners to network and collaborate.
Simulation Week was initiated shortly after establishing the Simulated Environment Teaching Hospital at FranU, a hub for interprofessional collaboration. Historically, some of the University’s events have included a disaster simulation, where students collaborated with EMS, the Fire department, public health nurses, and the police department to manage situations such as bioterrorism or an active shooting.
FranU has also hosted its first simulation expo in the state, where simulation users participated in a mini-conference to enhance their knowledge of simulation. During the week, the University also recognizes standardized patients for contributing to FranU’s robust, standardized patient program.
Events for the week include: Monday, Standardized Patient Luncheon; Tuesday, Food, Fun and Fellowship from 11:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.; Wednesday, Poverty Simulation from noon-4:00 p.m.; and a Proning IPE Simulation Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
