What is health? What is disease? In what ways do these states of being impact our lives and our communities? How do societies across the globe approach health and disease differently? How does fear of sickness and death influence individual approaches to community engagement? How can communities pursue bodily and mental health? The readings for this course will span literature across the ages that portray diverse stories about the body and mind. Topics may include youth, vitality, strength, agility, pain, grief, death, isolation, and different abilities.
