New Student Orientation

Welcome to the FranU Campus Community!

Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University’s Wolfpack Orientation is designed to provide you with a conducive space to make valuable connections, become more acquainted with the campus and its services and gather helpful tips toward a successful and formative experience at FranU.

If you have any questions, please contact Tyler Trahan, Director of the Department of Franciscan Student Life & Servant Leadership, at 225-526-1694 or by email.

Who should attend:

New student orientation, or what we call Wolfpack Orientation, is a required program for incoming students. Those students who have been readmitted to FranU, meaning they have taken classes previously at FranU, can choose to attend orientation if they wish to receive updated information. Students who are participating in online programs, dual enrollment or certificate tracks are not required to attend orientation.

Admitted students must schedule an advising appointment and meet with an advisor prior to orientation. Information on how to schedule advising appointments is sent to students within their "Admitted Student Checklist" email and on their applicant portal. If you have any questions, please contact the Office of Advising at 225-526-1620.

Students not yet admitted to FranU may contact the Office of Admissions at 225-526-1631.

Who can I bring with me to FranU orientation?

One family member/guest is invited but is not required to attend orientation. However, we strongly encourage their attendance, especially if this is their student’s first university experience. Since the information presented is new, it really helps to have someone else to assist in remembering all of the details.

Where is the new student orientation located?

Wolfpack Orientation takes place in St. Francis Hall.

Are there fees associated with attending?

The cost of orientation is $50 and $25 for guest. The fee covers all expenses for program materials, lunch, parking tag and student ID. Any orientation fee is non-refundable. Should you decide not to attend FranU, you are responsible for notifying the Office of Admissions at 225-526-1631.
