Each year, FranU selects a student to receive the Student Excellence and Commitment to Service Award. This year’s recipient is Viktoriia Leigh, an outstanding Biology student working towards becoming a Physician Assistant. Originally from the Ukraine, having learned English as her second language, she has excelled in her academic coursework, while balancing raising a large family, and serving as an active student leader.
As President of the Catholic Student Association, Viktoriia leads by example. She volunteers at every campus event, fundraising for important social needs, and seeks out opportunities to help other students feel included on our campus.
Recently Viktoriia received a Student Affairs leadership award for her commitment to service for her work on campus and dedication to volunteering at the local soup kitchens, Habitat for Humanity, and the Boys and Girls Club, just to name a few.
A person of joyfulness, faith, and humility, Viktoriia is a true servant leader. Her passion and quiet dedication to serving others is an inspiration to those around her.
Congratulations, Viktoriia!
