The purpose of the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University Institutional Review Board (IRB) is to make certain that people who participate in research are treated ethically.
During the COVID-19 Outbreak the FranU IRB is still able to review and approve proposals, amendments, and re-approval/closure requests.
Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University recognizes and accepts the responsibility to protect the rights and welfare of human research participants. The University is guided by the ethical principles published in the report by the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research (Ethical Principles and Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects of Research) as well as the 1981 revision of Ethical Principles of Psychologists as adopted by the American Psychological Association.
IRB applications for project review are submitted through IRB Manager. Please log-in and begin your IRB application.
Our IRB application was revised to simplify the submission process for our researchers. A single application is now utilized by all project types. The researcher’s answers to screening questions apply conditions that customize the application and only show requirements specific to their project type. Sections that do not apply are automatically removed.
