We provide career coaching, vocational discernment tools, resume and interview prep and opportunities to connect with employers and mentors. Our goal is to help you align your strengths and values with a career that fulfills you, professionally and personally.

Connect With a Vocational Coach

Exploring your calling starts with a conversation. Students can email a vocational coach to book an appointment and receive personalized guidance on their next steps.

A vocational coach can help you explore:

• Your sense of calling - what feels meaningful, energizing, and aligned with who you are'Your purpose- the deeper “why” behind your academic and career choices
• Your strengths and gifts - what you naturally do well and how it connects to future work
• Career paths that fit your values - roles and environments where you can thrive
• Next steps toward a fulfilling future - practical guidance to move forward with clarity and confidence

Wolves at Work Internship Program

Wolves at Work is a collaborative partnership between Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (FranU) and Our Lady of the Lake (OLOL). The program is designed to give students hands-on exposure to a variety of entry-level career paths within the hospital setting. Through structured career exploration and paid internship experience, students gain the skills and insight needed for future employment opportunities.

 

Program Requirements

Students must:

• Apply through Handshake
• Be matched to an approved internship role
• Interview with Human Resources
• Complete one year as a paid intern prior to job placement consideration
• Explore multiple placement options across hospital departments
• Minimum of 15 hours per week

 

Wolves at Work: Phlebotomy Training Program

Students who complete the Summer Phlebotomy Training Program may qualify for Fall job placement as a Phlebotomist or other related roles within the hospital.

Phlebotomy Training Program Requirements:

• PRN employment status
• Minimum of 15 hours per week

Handshake

Handshake is FranU’s online platform for connecting you with jobs, internships, recruiting events and career fairs. Through Handshake, Career and Vocation Services partners with employers to bring opportunities directly to our students and alumni. 

With Handshake, you can: 

• Apply for full-time and part-time jobs and internships posted specifically for FranU students and alumni 
• Register for informational sessions, networking or recruiting events hosted by employers 
• Sign up for career fairs, alumni panels and workshops hosted by FranU Career and Vocation services 
• Receive alerts when new positions that match your preferences are posted
