Courses

The health administration track consists of 120 hours, including 18 devoted to courses that focus on the intersection of business and healthcare. Classes cover topics like labor in healthcare, quality improvement in patient care, health policy, insurance and reimbursement, healthcare delivery systems and population health. Students also have numerous opportunities to apply their skills in a required internship and self-designed capstone project.

Students graduate prepared for administrative and managerial positions in healthcare organizations or systems. In addition, many graduates pursue graduate studies in business, healthcare administration or related fields.

Health Administration BBA Degree Program Features

Admissions Requirements

To apply to FranU’s health administration BBA, you must meet the following requirements:

  • TOPS Core Curriculum with a minimum 2.5 GPA computed on core courses only if you are a high school senior or graduate;
    • OR an acceptable HiSET exam score of 60 or higher.

    • OR a General Education Development (GED) test score of 500 or higher.

  • ACT or SAT scores:
    • ACT composite score of 20

    • SAT math and verbal combined score of 1040

In addition, you may also apply to FranU as test optional. If applying test optional, you must take Math 0310 OR submit a test score for math placement. We accept the following scores for placement into Math 1315:

  • ACT Math subscore 18 or higher

  • SAT Math subscore 500 or higher

  • Accuplacer Quantitative Reasoning ≥250

  • CLEP College Algebra 50 or higher

BBA electives may be taken from BADM, ALYT, HADM, MRKT, or MGMT courses

Ethics/Philosophy electives may be taken from PHIL 2315, PHIL 2320, THEO 3345, THEO 3350, or THEO 3360

Humanities electives may be taken from ART, ENGL, HIST, HUMN, MUSI, PHIL, RELS, or SPAN courses; 6 hours must be from the same discipline.

Natural Sciences electives may be taken from BIOL, CHEM, PHYS or PHSC courses

Social Sciences electives may be taken from ANTH, ECON, HIST, POLI, PSYC, RELS or SOCI courses.
